About Church of the Sacred Heart, Kifian
Church of the Sacred Heart, Kifian was built between 1928 and 1929. It has a simple single-cell form under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include stained-glass windows, an internal gallery and lancet windows.
History
The design is attributed to Ralph Henry Byrne of Suffolk Street, Dublin. The sanctuary was reordered in 1985 in accordance with post-Vatican II liturgical reforms; the same date is attached to the Gothic-style timber Stations set between the windows.
