About Killanley (Castleconnor)
Killanley (Castleconnor) was built around 1810. The church has a pitched slate roof. Notable features include a three-stage tower with an octagonal spire, crenellated parapets, pinnacles and window tracery.
The building
This Board of First Fruits Church of Ireland church features a canted chancel to the east and a gabled vestry to the north-east. The structure includes inward-stepping shallow pilasters at the tower corners and string courses between stages. Windows contain painted Y-tracery with cast-iron diamond panes, while the chancel has leaded lights. The site is elevated and surrounded by a graveyard with a rubble stone boundary wall and wrought-iron gates.
