About Church of Our Lady of the Assumption - Ardagh
Church of Our Lady of the Assumption - Ardagh was built between 1954 and 1955. It has a nine-bay nave under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include stained-glass windows and an internal gallery.
History
Simon Aloysius Leonard of William Henry Byrne and Son signed designs in 1951 and 1953. This was a second attempt to replace a nearby chapel, after the practice had produced earlier sketch plans in July 1940 for a 378-seat church excluding the gallery.
