About Kilbarron St Anne (Ballyshannon)
Kilbarron St Anne (Ballyshannon) was built around 1735. The church has rendered walls under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include a three-stage tower, stained-glass windows and crenellated parapets. It was designed by Thomas Elliott.
History
The nave and chancel were extensively rebuilt in 1839–42 to designs by William Hagerty, with William Farrell apparently overseeing construction. Inside, galleries on three sides are supported by cast-iron columns.
