About Church of the Immaculate Conception, Kanturk
Church of the Immaculate Conception, Kanturk was built in 1867. It has a seven-bay nave, built of limestone under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include stained glass including a rose window, window tracery and buttressed walls. It was designed by J. Hurley.
Notable features
The principal entrance has an ordered arch, engaged colonnettes with decorative capitals and a quatrefoil panel containing an inscribed date plaque. The vestibule has quarry floor tiles, and a freestanding ashlar limestone bell tower stands to the north-west.
