About Church of St Garvan
Church of St Garvan was built between 1843 and 1845. It has a simple single-cell form and rendered walls under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include stained-glass windows, a bellcote and mosaic work.
Notable people
The church was erected by Reverend John Scallon PP (1778-1849). The stained glass was supplied by Earley Studios Limited of Dublin to designs by William Earley (1872-1956). The Trinity Window (1905) is attributable to James Watson (b. 1859/60) of Youghal, with mosaic work attributable to Ludwig Oppenheimer Limited of Old Trafford, Manchester.
