About Church of St Lawrence
Church of St Lawrence was built between 1785 and 1790. It has a three-bay nave and rendered walls. Notable features include stained-glass windows, a bellcote and an internal gallery.
The building
The church follows a T-shaped plan with a nave and transepts, originally featuring a thatch finish destroyed during the 1798 Insurrection. It was renovated in 1975-6 and 1998, with the sanctuary reordered in accordance with liturgical reforms. The interior contains a balustraded choir gallery, Maltese Cross-detailed pews, and a high altar topped by a flèche.
