About Church of St Columcille, Togher
Church of St Columcille, Togher was built in 1866 in the Gothic Revival style. The church is built of rubble stone under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include a four-stage bell tower with an octagonal spire, stained-glass windows, pinnacles and window tracery. It was designed by John Murray.
Notable features
Pointed doorways on all four elevations have multiple-order chamfered limestone surrounds and vertically sheeted timber doors. A rubble-built Marian grotto dated 1919 stands to the north-west, and the north gateway has carved limestone piers, quadrant walls, cast-iron gates and railings.
