About Church of Our Lady of Lourdes, Drogheda
Church of Our Lady of Lourdes, Drogheda dates from 1957. The church is built of ashlar granite under a pitched copper roof. Notable features include a three-stage tower, stained-glass windows, a bellcote and an internal gallery.
Notable features
The entrance has a tetrastyle portico of Doric columns with a carving of Our Lady of Lourdes in the tympanum. Inside are a green-tiled aisle, parquet beneath the pews, Stations of the Cross murals and a compartmented barrel-vaulted ceiling.
