About Cahir St Paul (Caher)
Cahir St Paul (Caher) was built between 1816 and 1818. It has a cruciform plan with a five-bay nave, built of squared limestone under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include stained-glass windows, crenellated parapets and pinnacles.
The building
The west entrance is a two-order pointed arch with a hood moulding ending in carved head stops, a battered plinth and a panelled timber double door. The vestry has its own pointed doorway, while the interior retains timber-panelled box pews with trefoil-headed side panels and individual doors.
