About Ardnageehy Mary (Glenville)
Ardnageehy Mary (Glenville) was built in 1788. It has a three-bay nave and rendered walls under a pitched artificial slate roof. Notable features include a three-stage tower, stained-glass windows, pinnacles and window tracery.
The building
A gabled single-bay vestry was added to the north elevation c. 1860, and a lower gabled chancel was constructed to the east in 1896. The interior retains a decorative tiled floor with a carved limestone date plaque, carved timber window reveals and commemorative plaques. Windows and plaques commemorate the Hudson-Kinahan family, while a stained glass window to the Virgin Mary is noted for its subject matter and artistry.
