About St. Joseph's Church, Glenville
St. Joseph's Church, Glenville was built around 1890. It has a seven-bay nave, built of sandstone under a pitched artificial slate roof. Notable features include stained-glass windows, a bellcote and an internal gallery.
The building
Inside, circular-profile limestone piers with rendered capitals carry pointed arcades, and exposed roof timbers remain. The site is enclosed by cut-sandstone boundary walls with limestone copings; its entrance has carved limestone and sandstone piers with chamfered corners and gabled capitals.
