About Aghabog
Aghabog was built in 1875 in the Early English Gothic style. It has a four-bay nave and rendered walls. Notable features include a bell tower, stained-glass windows, an open timber roof and buttressed walls. It was designed by George Henderson.
The building
This Church of Ireland church was constructed in 1875 by John Maguire of Newtownbutler to designs by George Henderson of Dublin. The structure features a four-bay nave, a lower polygonal chancel, a south vestry, and a north porch with a pointed-arch doorway framed by marble colonettes. Exterior materials include coursed random rubble bluestone and ashlar sandstone, while the interior contains a hammer-beam truss roof, polished granite colonettes, and Great War memorials in marble, brass and tiles.
