About Newbliss

Newbliss was built in 1841. The church is built of rubble limestone. Notable features include a two-stage tower with a spire, an internal gallery, pinnacles and buttressed walls.

The building

This Church of Ireland church features a single north transept and a south vestry with an octagonal chimneystack. The interior contains a vaulted plaster ceiling with ribs and bosses, plain pine pews, and a gallery supported on clustered cast-iron columns. A mausoleum is accessed via a tunnelled entrance beneath the transept, while the site is bounded by a bank and hedging.
