About Youghal Methodist Church

Youghal Methodist Church was built in 1882. It has a four-bay nave, built of sandstone under a pitched artificial slate roof. Notable features include stained-glass windows, buttressed walls and lancet windows.

The building

The church features a projecting full-height chancel to the south-west and an entrance block to the north-east. While the side elevations are cut sandstone, the chancel and entrance are red brick with dressed limestone detailing. The pitched artificial slate roof includes terracotta ridge coping and decorative brackets. Windows comprise triple lancet arches with stained glass and paired pointed arches with quarry glazing. The site is set back from the street behind cast-iron railings.
