About Toombe St Catherine (Camolin)
Toombe St Catherine (Camolin) was built between 1820 and 1825. It has a five-bay nave. Notable features include a two-stage tower, stained-glass windows, an internal gallery and crenellated parapets.
The building
This Church of Ireland structure was rebuilt in 1823 with Board of First Fruits support, repurposing a later eighteenth-century church. It features a T-shaped plan with a south entrance tower and a north chancel. The interior was improved in 1858, possibly by Joseph Welland, adding a choir gallery and retaining an exposed timber roof. A 1962 stained glass North Window by Irish Stained Glass of Dublin is set above the altar.
