About Kilbride Holy Trinity (Ballymore)
Kilbride Holy Trinity (Ballymore) was built between 1870 and 1875. It has a three-bay nave, built of squared stone under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include a bellcote, buttressed walls and lancet windows.
The building
Designed in 1875 by McCurdy and Mitchell of Dublin, the church is built of ochre-coloured Knockavocka fieldstone. It features a compact rectilinear plan with a nave and chancel, topped by a bellcote framing a cast-bronze bell. The interior retains an exposed timber roof on Bowtell corbels and a Gothic-style reredos. A foliate-detailed memorial lectern from 1902 is attributed to Michael Joseph Cunningham Buckley.
