About Templemore St Mary
Templemore St Mary was built in 1790. It has a five-bay nave, built of squared limestone under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include a three-stage tower, pinnacles, window tracery and buttressed walls.
The building
The Church of Ireland structure was included in John Carden's town plan for Templemore of 1770 and remodelled c.1820. It features a north side aisle, a south side chapel, and a west tower flanked by porches with castellations. The interior contains a pointed arcade of round columns, an open trussed timber roof, and an interior date stone.
