About Templemartin St Martin
Templemartin St Martin was built in 1797. It has a four-bay nave and rendered walls under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include a three-stage tower, crenellated parapets and window tracery. The church stands in its own graveyard.
History
A plaque on the tower is attributed to architect J. Johnston and notes the date 1718, though the church was built in 1797 and extensively altered in the early nineteenth century. The site includes an unmarked famine graveyard to the north-west and stands within grounds that mirror the arrangement of the former rectory across the road.
