About St. Joseph’s Church, Cloughduv
St. Joseph’s Church, Cloughduv dates from 1871. It has a cruciform plan with a six-bay nave, built of squared limestone under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include a three-stage tower, an internal gallery and window tracery.
Notable features
The nave roof is a carved timber scissors-braced structure, with panelling over the side aisles. A carved commemorative plaque survives on the western wall, accompanied by a carved limestone baptismal font in the south side aisle. The sacristy occupies the south-west corner and rises to two storeys with a dormer attic.
