About St. Patrick’s Church, Kilbrittain
St. Patrick’s Church, Kilbrittain dates from 1790. It has a T-shaped plan with a two-bay nave, built of rubble stone under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include a bell tower, stained-glass windows, an internal gallery and an organ.
History
The church housed the Bandon Militia during the 1798 rebellion and was extended in the 1840s. It was dedicated to Saint Patrick on 10 June 1892 and was refurbished in 1982 and again in 2004.
