About Rathclaren Holy Trinity (Kilbrittain)
Rathclaren Holy Trinity (Kilbrittain) was built around 1650. It has a three-bay nave, built of rubble limestone under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include a four-stage bell tower, stained-glass windows, window tracery and buttressed walls.
Notable features
The church interior features a barrel vaulted ceiling with moulded render arches on consoles, alongside carved marble and stone commemorative plaques. A timber pulpit with trefoil-headed lancet perforations stands in the north-east corner, while a carved octagonal marble font is located in the north-west. The clock, installed in 1876, was donated by Ludlow Sealy of Burren House, and a chime of ten tubular bells was given in the 1890s in memory of the three Sealy brothers.
