About St Mary’s Church, Lanesboro
St Mary’s Church, Lanesboro was built in 1834. It has a three-bay nave and rendered walls under a pitched artificial slate roof. Notable features include a four-stage tower, stained-glass windows, an internal gallery and a marble altar.
History
The church site was donated by local landlord Luke White. Construction or remodelling undertaken in 1859 is attributed to William Hague Senior, and another phase of reworking during the early twentieth century.
