About St Mary’s Church, Corrawacan
St Mary’s Church, Corrawacan was built in 1866. The church is built of squared limestone under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include stained-glass windows, an internal gallery and carved Stations of the Cross.
History
The present structure replaced an earlier church on the same site, which is shown on the 1835 Ordnance Survey map. The building was largely reorganised about 1980, though many original components were retained. A school once stood to the east within the church grounds, as recorded on the 1908 map, but it has since been demolished.
