About First Ballybay Presbyterian Church
First Ballybay Presbyterian Church dates from 1786. It has a simple single-cell form, built of limestone. Notable features include an internal gallery and window tracery.
History
First Ballybay Presbyterian Church was constructed in 1786, located over an Irish mile from Ballybay as required by law at the time. A disagreement in the Derryvally congregation in 1800 led to the building of a separate church nearby. The congregations were reunited in 1909, and the former Derryvally church subsequently became a community hall.
