St. Mary's Church, Carrigallen

The building

The gable-fronted Roman Catholic structure stands on an elevated site and includes single-bay transepts and a two-bay chancel with a single-storey extension to the chancel and south transept. The roof has ridge cresting tiles and stone cross finials. Cut stone surrounds frame the windows and doors. A timber battened door occupies a pointed-arch opening surmounted by a stained glass tympanum. Interior elements comprise timber pews, an organ gallery and an altar to the east set within a niche. Grave markers, a cast-iron bell and a rendered boundary wall are located on the site.
