About St Joseph's Church, Clifden
St Joseph's Church, Clifden was built between 1875 and 1891. It has a four-bay nave, built of rubble limestone under a pitched artificial slate roof. Notable features include a bell tower, an internal gallery, a marble altar and window tracery.
Notable features
The nave has a timber barrel-vaulted ceiling, while the chancel and porch have panelled vaulted ceilings, the latter with moulded plasterwork. Tooled limestone piers support the aisles, and the chancel contains a sculpted marble reredos dated 1907.
