About Errislannan Holy Trinity
Errislannan Holy Trinity was built around 1853 in the Gothic Revival style. The church is built of squared stone under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include a bell tower, stained-glass windows, buttressed walls and lancet windows. It was designed by Joseph Welland.
The building
Designed by Joseph Welland for Rev. Richard Wall of Errislannan Manor, the church occupies a prominent position on the peninsula with extensive views. It features an unusual battered porch and a galvanised steel bell tower added in 1975. The interior is characterised by limewashed or painted rubble walls, a timber scissors truss roof, and original timber pews and pulpit.
