About Clifden Christ Church
Clifden Christ Church was built in 1853. The church is built of rubble stone under a pitched artificial slate roof. Notable features include a three-stage tower with a spire and buttressed walls.
History
The present structure replaced an earlier church of 1810. The attached bell tower was added in 1864. The building is attributed to the benefaction of John D'Arcy, whose tomb is located just outside the church.
