About St. Joseph's Church, Ballyorgan
St. Joseph's Church, Ballyorgan was built in 1857. It has a four-bay nave and rendered walls under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include stained-glass windows, an internal gallery and a marble altar.
History
St Joseph's Church in Ballyorgan, Co. Cork, was built in 1857 and consecrated in October 1858. The freestanding gable-fronted structure is located at a prominent junction and retains its original form, including a single-bay sacristy with lean-to extensions to the rear. The site is enclosed by rubble limestone boundary walls and accessed through double-leaf cast-iron gates set between square-profile ashlar limestone piers with carved caps.
