About St. Andrew's Church, Kilfinane
St. Andrew's Church, Kilfinane was built between 1870 and 1880 in the Gothic Revival style. The church is built of squared sandstone under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include a three-stage tower, stained glass including a rose window, an internal gallery and window tracery. It was designed by George Coppinger Ashlin.
History
Dr. George Butler, Bishop of Limerick, laid the foundation stone on 6 July 1879. The church was officially opened in 1889. It is dedicated to Saint Andrew and forms part of an ecclesiastical group with the presbytery and graveyard to site.
