About St Joseph, Foulkstown
St Joseph, Foulkstown was built in 1851. It has a cruciform plan with a two-bay nave, built of rubble limestone under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include stained-glass windows, an internal gallery and pinnacles.
History
The present church replaced an earlier chapel on an adjacent site. It later underwent a comprehensive restoration while retaining much of its historic fabric. The surrounding graveyard contains a large collection of cut-stone markers.
