About St. John the Baptist Church, Lisronagh
St. John the Baptist Church, Lisronagh was built between 1831 and 1832. It has a cruciform plan with a three-bay nave and rendered walls under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include stained-glass windows, a bellcote and carved Stations of the Cross.
The building
Sited at a crossroads in Lisronagh, Co. Tipperary, the church features an ornate marble reredos and a shrine to Our Lady in the north transept with cinquefoil detail. The structure includes a single-bay sacristy to the south-east and gabled porches, one of which is a recent addition. An adjacent graveyard lies to the south of the site.
