About St. John the Baptist, Cashel
St. John the Baptist, Cashel was built between 1772 and 1804. It has a ten-bay nave, built of limestone under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include a two-stage tower, stained-glass windows, mosaic work and carved Stations of the Cross.
The building
The church was re-fronted in 1850. Its present composition includes a canted projection and a three-bay single-storey addition on the south side, as well as a multiple-bay single-storey sacristy extension at the chancel end.
