About St Columbanus, Ballivor
St Columbanus, Ballivor was built in 1821. It has a cruciform plan and rendered walls under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include a four-stage tower, stained-glass windows and buttressed walls.
The building
St Columbanus in Ballivor, Co. Meath, was built in 1821 and renovated in 1921. The cruciform-plan church features a four-stage tower at the north-east corner and a vestry at the south-east corner. Its rendered walls are articulated with buttresses and dressings, while the chancel includes a canted bay window. The entrance is marked by ashlar limestone gate piers with cast-iron railings and gates.
