About St Aiden, Tullogher
St Aiden, Tullogher was built in 1817. It has a cruciform plan with a two-bay nave under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include a three-stage tower with a pyramidal spire, stained-glass windows and window tracery.
The building
The structure features unpainted roughcast walls with tooled limestone ashlar dressings to the tower, which includes oculus apertures and corner finials. A six-over-six timber sash window with tracery to the overlight is present among the pointed-arch openings. The interior was remodelled post-1965, retaining carved timber Gothic-style altar railings and stained glass panels.
