About Ss Peter and Paul, Kilmallock
Ss Peter and Paul, Kilmallock was completed in 1889 in the Gothic Revival style. The church is built of squared limestone under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include a four-stage tower, stained glass including a rose window, an internal gallery and a marble altar.
Notable people
The church was designed by J.J. McCarthy, with construction by Walsh of Foynes. George Ashlin directed the chancel mosaics and designed the tower, spire, benches and gates between 1887 and 1893. Eugene Daly of Cork provided decoration, while Edmund Sharp executed the high altar and interior carving. Stained glass was supplied by Mayer and Earley.
