About Saint Mary's Church, Moyne
Saint Mary's Church, Moyne was built in 1902 in the Gothic Revival style. It has a seven-bay nave, built of squared limestone under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include stained-glass windows, a bellcote and pinnacles.
The building
The freestanding gable-fronted structure comprises a seven-bay nave with an apse, two-bay transepts and a sacristy to the southwest. Snecked rock-faced limestone walls feature chamfered block-and-start surrounds to pointed-arch windows, while the gable front includes a triple-light window flanked by niches containing statues. A limestone boundary wall with cast-iron railings encloses the site, which also contains a twentieth-century cemetery to the south and a ruined medieval church to the northwest.
