About Saint Mary's Church, Killenaule
Saint Mary's Church, Killenaule was built around 1860. The church is built of squared limestone under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include a bell tower, stained-glass windows, a marble altar and window tracery.
The building
The north and south elevations have pointed doorways beneath hood mouldings, with the southern opening converted to a window. Inside, a timber-coffered ceiling spans the space and clustered limestone columns divide the nave from the side aisles; limestone steps rise to the front of the church.
