About Crohane
Crohane was built between 1846 and 1847. It has a three-bay nave, built of sandstone under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include a bell tower, stained-glass windows, buttressed walls and lancet windows.
The building
This Church of Ireland building in Co. Cork features a chancel to the east, an entrance porch to the west and a sacristy to the north. The structure includes a belfry with a cast-iron bell, a cross finial on the east gable and a trefoil window on the west gable. It stands on a site that has apparently been the focus of religious activity for many centuries, retaining its original form with Gothic Revival style elements.
