About Sacred Heart Church, Western Road
Sacred Heart Church, Western Road was built between 1929 and 1931. The church has rendered walls under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include stained glass including a rose window, a bellcote and an internal gallery.
History
The Missionaries of the Sacred Heart built the church. It is associated with the order's first house in Ireland, which had been established at this location in 1909.
