About Sacred Heart Church, Jamestown
Sacred Heart Church, Jamestown was built in 1812. It has a cruciform plan and pebbledashed walls under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include stained-glass windows and a bellcote.
History
Built in 1812 as a private chapel by Hugh and Francis O'Beirne of Jamestown House, the church was enlarged in 1843. It is aligned east-west but features an unusual half-octagonal chancel at the west end. A single-storey flat-roofed extension was added to the east end.
