About Our Lady of the Wayside
Our Lady of the Wayside was built in 1968. The church is built of brick under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include a bell tower, stained glass including a rose window, an internal gallery and a marble altar.
The building
Round-arched openings occur on the front elevation and apse, with paired and triple openings to the sacristy and unglazed arcades at belfry level. The round-headed doorways have carved masonry dressings and timber-panelled doors, some with leaded overlights and cut-granite steps.
