About Our Lady Of Lourdes, Skeoughvosteen
Our Lady Of Lourdes, Skeoughvosteen was built around 1825. It has a cruciform plan under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include stained-glass windows, a bellcote and window tracery.
The building
This detached three-bay double-height Catholic church on a cruciform plan includes a single-bay shallow chancel continuing into a two-storey sacristy. The unpainted roughcast walls feature cut-limestone quoins and pointed-arch window openings with twenty-over-twenty timber sash windows. A bellcote dated 1865 sits at the south apex, while the interior was reordered post-1973 to include a Classical-style reredos and coffered ceiling.
