About Most Precious Blood
Most Precious Blood was built in 1954 in the Romanesque style. It has a seven-bay nave, built of ashlar granite. Notable features include a bell tower, stained-glass windows and mosaic work.
The building
The interior uses a shallow barrel-vaulted ceiling with a deep running cornice, parquet flooring and a full-height arch opening to the apse. Art Deco detailing is also recorded inside, contrasting with the Romanesque treatment of the exterior.
