About Most Holy Trinity, Dunmore
Most Holy Trinity, Dunmore was built in 1817. It has a simple single-cell form and rendered walls. Notable features include a three-stage tower, stained-glass windows, an internal gallery and lancet windows.
History
Erected in 1817 by public subscription under the aegis of Reverend James Henneberry, the church reflects the period preceding the Roman Catholic Relief Act of 1829. The interior was later reordered in accordance with liturgical reforms sanctioned by the Second Ecumenical Council of the Vatican. A Commonwealth War Graves Commission headstone marks the burial place of Sergeant John Deely of the Royal Irish Regiment, who died in 1915.
