About Malin Presbyterian Church

Malin Presbyterian Church was built around 1780. The church has rendered walls under a pitched artificial slate roof. Notable features include an internal gallery and lancet windows.

History

The first minister was appointed in 1717, though the current structure dates to c. 1780. It was extended in 1864, adding 16ft to its length, an east porch, and an internal gallery. Described by Lewis in 1837 as a large meeting-house connected with the Synod of Ulster, it is apparently the most northerly Presbyterian meeting house in Ireland. The site includes a detached Sunday School and gravemarkers.
