About Lucan Methodist Church
Lucan Methodist Church was built around 1877 in the Gothic Revival style. It has a four-bay nave, built of squared limestone under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include a bellcote, buttressed walls and lancet windows.
The building
The church features a half-octagonal apse to the east and a large three-light window on the west entrance front. The snecked limestone walls are accented with red brick string courses, cornices, and dressings to the buttresses and openings. A single-storey lean-to extension is attached to the north side, while the interior contains a timber scissors truss roof structure.
