About Laghey
Laghey was built between 1834 and 1837. It has a two-bay nave, built of squared stone under a pitched artificial slate roof. Notable features include stained-glass windows, a bellcote and window tracery.
History
Originally built between 1834 and 1837 using funds from private subscription, the church was likely associated with the Hamilton family of Coxtown House. It probably served as a chapel of ease for Ballintra or Donegal. The building was altered between 1911 and 1919, when a shallow chancel and a north transept were added to the original structure.
