About St Patrick’s Church, Donegal Town

St Patrick’s Church, Donegal Town was built between 1925 and 1935. The church is built of squared granite. Notable features include a bell tower, stained glass including a rose window, an internal gallery and mosaic work. It was designed by Ralph Henry Byrne.

History

The church is dedicated as St Patrick's Church of the Four Masters, named for the scribes who compiled the Annals of the Four Masters, a chronicle of Irish history from the earliest times to the seventeenth century. The parish records the church as built in 1933.
